In vitro fertilization, or IVF, is a common assisted reproductive technology used to help women become pregnant. It entails creating the composition in a laboratory and then implanting it inside a female uterus.

It requires the removal of eggs from a woman’s ovaries and fertilization with sperm. This fertilized egg is identified as an embryo. The retrieved eggs and sperm are fertilized in the laboratory, and the fertilized egg (embryo) is put in the woman’s womb to help her conceive. After that, the embryo can be frozen or transferred to a woman’s uterus.

Depending on the patient circumstance, IVF treatment in Nepal is done using:

  • female eggs and their partner’s sperm
  • female eggs and donor sperm
  • donor eggs and her partner’s sperm
  • donor eggs and donor sperm
  • donated embryos

IVF treatment in Nepal

IVF treatment is a means of treating infertility or genetic disorders. If IVF is used to treat infertility, you and your partner may indeed be willing to try less invasive alternative treatments first, such as fertility treatments to increase egg production or artificial insemination — a procedure in which sperm are placed directly in the uterus near the time of ovulation.

IVF is sometimes advised as a principal treatment for infertility in women between the ages of 40. If you do have specific health problems, IVF can also be performed at this age.

IVF, for example, may be a feasible option if you or your partner have:

  • Damage to or obstruction of the fallopian tube. Damaged or blocked fallopian tubes cause an egg to be fertilized or for an embryo to reach the uterus.
  • Ovulation problems are very common. When ovulation is irregular or non-existent, there is a chance that fewer eggs are accessible for fertilization.
  • Endometriosis: Endometriosis is a condition in which tissue that is comparable to the uterine lining implants and grows outside of the uterus, causing problems with the ovaries, uterus, and fallopian tubes.
  • Fibroids in the uterus. Fibroids are uterine tumours that are benign. They are more common in women in their 30s and 40s. Fibroids can obstruct the fertilized egg’s ability to implant.
  • Tubal sterilization or removal is required. Tubal ligation is a sterilization procedure that includes cutting or closing the fallopian tubes to permanently prevent conception. IVF may be one option for tubal ligation reversal surgery where you want to conceive following tubal ligation.
